Sharif Ebrahim is
a principal based in the firm’s San Francisco office. He’s
an expert in designing and executing innovative, integrated and successful
communications and issue management programs. They range from the
public affairs campaign that brings your issue into the spotlight
to the mediation that unlocks a contentious, long-running dispute.
Sharif has advised Fortune 500, nonprofit and government clients,
including the Nasdaq Stock Market, AT&T and the State of California.
He does not accept advocacy clients in the environmental and natural
resources area, where he works as a neutral mediator.
Sharif focuses on mediated solutions, earned media, interest-based
coalitions and policy research. He believes they offer clients a superior
return-on-investment and a powerful alternative to endless litigation,
sporadic advertising and “Astroturf” campaigns.
He has a ten-year track record of winning numerous high-stakes regulatory
proceedings, legislative initiatives and private settlements. He’s
currently mediating a settlement between water interests, local governments
and nonprofits to secure a locally-backed federal license for the
State of California's largest energy project.
Sharif is a widely published writer. Formerly, he worked for a state
senator and directed two Bay Area offices for a statewide political
consulting group in California. Sharif co-authored a negotiation training
curriculum with the Harvard-MIT Consensus Building Institute and is
an alumnus of UC Davis and UC Berkeley, including coursework at Berkeley’s
Survey Research Center.
