Sharif Ebrahim
Principal
sebrahim@kearnswest.com

Sharif Ebrahim has 14 years of experience working with state, federal and local government organizations, private companies and nonprofits, including the Nasdaq Stock Market, AT&T, California Department of Water Resources and the Electric Power Research Institute.

A principal with Kearns & West, Sharif is an expert in designing and executing innovative and integrated communications and stakeholder collaboration programs. He brings a multi-disciplinary approach to his work across all the firm’s services areas, including neutral facilitation, media relations and designing and managing communications programs. Sharif focuses on mediated solutions, earned media, interest-based coalitions and policy research, believing that in most cases they offer clients a better return-on-investment and a powerful alternative to litigation, sporadic advertising or “Astroturf” campaigns.

Sharif has developed and executed public affairs and communications programs on technology and Internet issues for clients involved in state and federal legislative and regulatory proceedings. In the environmental and natural resources area, where he works as a third-party neutral, Sharif has facilitated settlement discussions, collaborative processes, policy dialogues and public involvement and outreach programs on numerous water, energy and land use issues.

Sharif co-authored a negotiation training curriculum with the Harvard-MIT Consensus Building Institute under a grant from the U.S. Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution, and has conducted trainings using this curriculum for state and federal agencies and private companies.

Sharif is based in Kearns & West’s San Francisco office. Formerly, he worked for a California state senator and candidate for statewide office and directed two Bay Area offices for a statewide political consulting group in California. He is an alumnus of University of California Davis and graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in political science.
